Hans Gussekloo maakt modern, abstract werk met een sterk figuratief karakter. Hij heeft een vijfjarige vakopleiding aan de Kunstacademie Haarlem afgerond en is werkend lid van kunstenaarsvereniging ArtiBrak Voorburg en Kunstgroep Wassenaar. In zijn werk combineert hij modern abstract en figuratief. In expressieve, kleurrijke doeken laat hij een droomwereld zien waarin humor en kwetsbaarheid samenkomen. Vaak gaat zijn werk over mensen van wie niet de uiterlijke schoonheid het belangrijkst is, maar het innerlijk; wat speelt zich af aan de binnenzijde van zo'n figuur. Dit thema onderzoekt hij in kleurrijke beelden, weergegeven met een ondertoon van humor en kwetsbaarheid. Zo probeert hij een verborgen emotie of verwarring te openbaren aan de toeschouwer. Hans beperkt zich niet graag tot een bepaald concept, maar vindt dat de kracht nu juist zit in het idee dat een werk iets onverwachts kan opleveren.

Hans Gussekloo's work is modern and abstract with a strongly figurative nature. Hans has completed the five-year programme at Kunstacademie Haarlem and is a working member of the artists association ArtiBrak Voorburg en Kunstgroep Wassenaar. His work combines modern abstract and figurative styles and his expressive, colourful canvases reveal a fantasy world which is sensitive yet amusing. When featuring people in his work his focus is on their personality rather than their outward beauty; an expression of their inner experience. He explores this theme in brightly coloured images with an undertone of humour and vulnerability, in order to reveal a hidden emotion or produce a sense of confusion in the observer. Hans does not like to be restricted to a particular idea; he feels that the strength of a piece of work lies in its ability to produce the unexpected, to speak to the observer on more than one level.

Dans ses toiles Hans Gussekloo combine l'abstraction moderne avec le figuratif. A la suite d'une formation professionelle de cinq ans auprès du Art Academy à Haarlem, il est un membre actif auprès de l'assocation des artistes ArtiBrak à Voorburg et du groupe artistique à Wassenaar. Il crée avec son oeuvre expressive et riche en couleurs un monde de rêve dans lequel l'humour et la fragilité se côtoient. Ces toiles nous montrent souvent des personnes dont on admire davantage la force intérieure que la beauté extérieure. Un questionnement survient alors: que se passe-t-il en ce personnage? Hans s'exprime selon ce thème, et dans la palette haute en couleur, il nous étonne toujours avec cette touche humoristique dans la fragilité de l'être. Il essaie de nous transmettre une émotion ou un trouble caché.Hans ne se limite pas dans un concept determiné, mais estime que le pouvoir réside dans l'idée qu'une oeuvre peut apporter quelque chose d'inattendu.
